Environmental Scans consider the “big picture” trends influencing the planning and operations of organizations. They help explain major forces of change and inform sound policy responses.
British Columbia – like jurisdictions across North America and the world – grapples with globalization, climate change, demographic shifts, and social inequalities. The province is endowed with a vast land base, rich natural resources, and a temperate climate. However, the problems of today and the future will increasingly require fresh responses based on the acquisition of knowledge and a highly skilled population.
